So I was in the thesis zone last night and decided to pull an all nighter. Why I chose to do so when I had to teach a class this morning plus an important interview in relation to my thesis, I will never understand. But that’s how I get when I’m in the zone. Anyhoo, so I definitely needed a happy print to make sure I made it through my day.
My mum found this Turkish trouser variant in a random store in Pondicherry, India. It’s such a bright and cheerful print! I added tights from Hot Topic underneath the trousers as it is almost see through. To balance all the colors, I wore my oversized black tissue tee from H&M. I added two chunky bangles from Splash, my handcrafted “Bidri” earrings and a red button necklace I purchased in India. My black gladiator flats from MIA were perfect for today and balanced off the texture on my tan faux leather bag. Plus, I really, really needed my Versace frames today to hide those scary “designer” dark circles.
Phew! Almost through with today. Almost.

So, this morning I realized I was out of conditioner, and I thought I would use some of my olive/castor oil that I usually use for my face. This was a good idea in theory. However, I ended up using too much, and now I’m going to have to wash my hair again!! So, sorry if I look a little greasy, it’s just not been a good hair week.
Today, I decided to debut my A.J. Morgan mint sunglasses I bought recently from South Moon Under, and they went great with my mint nails and mint iPhone cover! As for the rest of the outfit, I wore a white cotton top from Zara tucked into a purple/teal/blue abstract printed skirt from Tracy Reese with black lace tights from Hue, and my brown Ariats. I brought out a necklace my mother picked up from TJ Maxx like 10 years ago.
The weather is so great, but I’m not fully ready to transition to all my spring clothes, I find myself trying to incorporate some of my winter things into a spring look. Hopefully, it doesn’t get too warm, too fast!

Today in my Historic Costume Collections class I broke a museum preservation rule by wearing my Velvet Matte ‘Red Square’ lip pencil from NARS. I love this lip color!
Besides my lip color, my outfit consisted of my mom’s Bestini suit jacket over my black ruffled sleeveless blouse with the gold stud embellishments (Kmart), Gucci Straight-leg Denim (gift from parental units) and my trusty gold oxfords from Barefoottess.com.
The hair was snatched back in a high bun with my tiger-print feather headband from LOFT.
I’m going to try some new lip colors at the NARS counter tomorrow – Nordstrom called yesterday to inform me Wednesday starts triple points period…oh dear
Since graduation will be happening at the end of May, of course I need to start to think about what I’m going to be wearing for it! I have a few choices right now, mostly from Maggy London and Donna Ricco, but I’m definitely going to keep on looking. I’m really want a bright springy prints that could be accessorized with black. I also have to start thinking about what I’ll wear to Mikahila’s wedding, which will be the same weekend!!

For lunch in Fell’s Point with the gorgeous Tiffa, I chose my denim The Perfect Shirt by Current/Elliott and my favorite black skinnies by Joe’s Jeans. My shoes are cognac leather wedge booties from Marc by Marc Jacobs - the most comfortable heels I’ve ever found! This outfit is mostly basics, so I accessorized with fun jewelry: a snake ring from Lucky Brand, gold bracelet by Noir Jewelry & leather bracelets by Tai (both from Gilt Groupe), my Marc by Marc Jacobs skull watch (gift from the fiance) and of course my engagement ring!
I added my Anya Hindmarch “emergency kit” tote, which is perfect for lugging around my Canon EOS DSLR and everything else a lady needs, including my favorite lavender Ray-Ban aviators. I particularly like the way my sunglasses match the graphic on the bag, but I swear it wasn’t intentional…
My nail color is Deborah Lippmann’s Mermaids dream, a current obsession. The colors and the glitter are so fun and springy! The final touch: awesomely bright lipstick. Today’s selection is Centrifuschia by LimeCrime, perfect to pop an otherwise neutral outfit.
P.S. Lunch was at StickyRice. They have sushi AND tater tots. Highly recommended!
So these pictures completely confirmed that I do not like the haircut I received over the weekend. Usually the place I go to does an amazing job, but I didn’t get my usual hairdresser, and everything just felt off. Now I don’t recommend this, but I keep a pair of my own thinning shears handy, just in case I feel like I need to do things myself.
Anyways, I was really excited to bring my Trouve grey leather jacket back in my life, after I retired it in the early fall. I love the antique gold studs on the lapel and how soft the leather is. I wore my William Rast for Target American Flag shirt, a dusty blue/white plaid scarf (which is just a piece of crinkled georgette from a fabric store), black Old Navy shorts, black DKNY tights, and Candela NYC wing tips. Again I was toting around my Hayden Harnett boat tote, with an amber bow ring I bought in Kauai and a rose gold Noir ring. I was excited to break out my “Mint Candy Apple” polish by Essie, as this week is officially spring weather!!
